Consciously, you want to quit. You keep telling youself you should because it's expensive, it stinks, and you feel like a social outcast. But, still you smoke. Why? Because you are controlled by your thoughts. You need to convince your subconscious mind that you are quitting. That's where hypnotherapy comes in. And it works beautifully!
Your mind has two parts: the conscious and the subconscious. You think with your conscious mind, but your protective subconscious controls your habits. When you relax in hypnosis, your conscious mind takes a break, allowing you and me to communicate directly with the subconsious mind, easily persuading it that you are done with smoking.
Everyone is hypnotisable, unless you have an IQ less than 70. It's a natural state that you slip into all the time. For example, when you're focused on watching a movie, or when you're driving along a known route and suddenly you "wake up". You got from A to B safely, but you don't remembering getting there. You know you weren't asleep. That's a hypnotic state.
